League Prize Giving

Graeme Davie wins the Shetland Squash Leagues (formally Clickimin Squash Leagues) with a massive 135 points including two maximums after the second highest ever score 15 behind Joan Smiths incredible 150. This years leagues have seen some fantastic squash with 444 matches played over the 7 month season.

 

The grade E winner whom scored one 20+ score and fought hard at the variable end of the league with a creditable 72 points was Leanne Jamieson. The Girls U19 winner with a good start and finish to the season was Hannah Garrick with 77. The Ladies Veterans Winner after a very consistent season with 82 points was Margaret Sharp. The Ladies Winner with some very good results in division two and some determined play in division one with 87 was Joan Smith.

 

Also with 87 and one 20+ score having battled very hard all season was the boys u19 winner Frank Garrick. With a high start in the league the grade B winner fought very hard for all his points finishing with 88 was Graham Wishart. The best newcomer having scored one 20+ score and rapidly advancing up the divisions with a score of 93 was David Smith.

 

With one point short of two maximum scores and two points short of a century on 98 the Grade C winner was David Kirk. The Mens Veterans winner with some very consistent scoring and a century of 100 was Gordon MacFarlane. Third in the league with an average of over 16 points a month and a century of 112 was Grade A winner Andy Bilton. Second in the league with 3 20+ scores, a century of 126 and Grade D winner was Jason Beeston.

 

Overall & Mens Winner for the 2009/2010 season with a century of 135, 4 20+ scores and two maximums was Graeme Davie. Squash continues over the summer with the summer ladder and island games training for more information check out www.shetlandsquash.co.uk.
