Shetland finished 8th in the team event after losing to Isles Wight 4 matches to 1 saw them just miss out on a semi final place. Losing their final team matches 3-2 against Isles of Man and Bermuda. A spokesman for Shetland Squash said "Shetland ended up with a good draw and we were happy with our play and delight we had a chance to get into the semi finals. It was just unfortunate that we did not have a strong enough team to bridge the gap."

Alan Hunter & Kerry pottinger will play in the first 4 squash matches on court 10am tomorrow when shetland takes on the number 1 team seeds jersey.
The squash courts are freshly refernished and top nick condition the ball sticks to the wall and all the courts are very compact in T shape with an upstairs viewing gallery.
A Shetland Squash player said "The Shetland Players found the courts to be of an excellent condition. Good training today with the pressure on after being scouted by the top notch opposition.

Terry Flett of Orkney wins the first every Orkney & Shetland Open Squash competition in Kirkwall. Twenty five players took part in 45 very competitive matches in a single day.

Orkney continue to dominate the recent squash inter county. Shetland tried hard to deny them in Kirkwall and managed to get 27 points closer than last year but Orkney were still to strong as their won their 18th title, 7 matches to 2. Both teams had 5 changes since last years intercounty.
